YOW Coxos 31" Meraki S5 - 2023 - Complete Surfskate
The Coxos spot may be a little more confidential than Huntington Beach or Byron Bay, but the name Ericeira (the Portuguese municipality where Coxos beach is located) is bound to evoke something in surfers the world over, not least because it hosts the Ribeira d'Ilhas stage of the World Tour.
In any case, Coxos is an excellent Portuguese surf spot (perhaps the best) for long-wave surfers, set in the heart of a reserve dedicated to surfing. An idyllic spot for a surfing holiday, in a relaxed atmosphere, sprinkled with grilled fish... What could be better?
All the ingredients were there for the YOW Coxos Surfskate to become a benchmark in the Spanish range. And it has!
For us, the Coxos is a perfect example of what the "Surfskate experience" should be for the average skateboarder.
Balanced proportions with a fairly wide 31" deck and an average wheelbase of 18". A medium concave, not too restrictive but effective for blocking the feet during moves. The truck YOW Meraki S5 is mounted at the front of the deck for maximum foot forward movement and control. A shape classic Fish inspired by traditional surfboards, and a design that often succeeds year after year. It's all there!
The performance of the YOW Meraki S5 fits perfectly into this picture, and truck offers an excellent compromise between maneuverability and control for slide.
